Vectorize
Convert suitable PNG, JPG, or WebP artwork into scalable SVG with a before-and-after preview.
Vectorize
Vectorize turns raster artwork into editable SVG. It works best for logos, icons, badges, sketches, line art, lettering, and flat illustrations with clear edges.
Open Vectorize from Studio → Vectorize (/home/studio/vectorize) or from the process menu on an upload.
Before you start
Vectorize accepts PNG, JPG, and WebP only. SVG files should use SVG Recolor instead.
Avoid vectorizing photos, soft gradients, and complex painterly art — the trace may produce heavy SVG files that need more cleanup than they save.
Add a source image
- Drag and drop onto the upload zone
- Click to browse files
- Import from URL for a direct image link
- Open from Uploads via the process menu
Controls
| Control | What it does |
|---|---|
| Remove background first | Runs background removal before vectorization. Useful when the art sits on a white box. After a first run, the button label changes to Re-vectorize if you toggle this option. |
| Vectorize / Re-vectorize | Runs the conversion. Costs 18 credits. The cost is shown on the button before you confirm. |
| Clear | Resets the workspace |
| Download | Saves the result as SVG |
Preview
The comparison view shows Original and Vectorized side by side. The vectorized panel uses a checkerboard background so transparency is easy to see.
Wait for processing to finish before downloading. Inspect paths, holes, curves, and color grouping in your design tool before production use.
Credits and access
Vectorize costs 18 credits per run (~16 runs at the 300-credit monthly allowance).
If you have no credits and no library access, an upgrade dialog appears. If you have library access but insufficient credits, a message directs you to Billing.
Workflow tips
- Remove the background first when the artwork is on a solid or photo backdrop.
- Upscale first if the source is too small — vectorizing a tiny PNG rarely produces clean paths.
- Save to Uploads and compare versions if the first trace is close but not perfect.
